I have chalkboard walls on the brain, since I just painted a whole wall in my kitchen this way {pictures coming as soon as it is done curing, and the artwork is in place!}....so I could not help but "oooh" and "ahhhh" over this awesome detail in such a clean modern kitchen. 
There is nothing like having permission to doodle on the walls anytime you please....creating mini masterpieces at will.

Chromaticity

Chromaticity {the quality of a color as determined by its dominant wavelength and its purity} is a new series that I will be incorporating into the blog weekly. I will be focusing on certain colors that have caught my eye and made me take a second look.

This week it is Blue Ocean by Behr, and it may be showing up inside my kitchen cabinets very soon!

Introductions

Callooh Callay, oh frabjous day...I'm totally chortling today! I love January for its fresh starts and crisp new calendar pages just waiting to be filled with .....whatever! I hope that each one of you is ready to have a great year! I know I'm in with both feet....

...and what better way to start the new year than with a brand spankin' new product! I have actually used this product already on a couple custom pieces, and it is so great! Super easy to apply, and beautiful results.

I have not used the spray version pictured above, but rather the can version that I applied with a brush. The guys at my local Sherwin Williams store gave me the skinny, and this product is so new I had a hard time finding a picture of it in the can form. Oh well, just look for the Minwax oil modified polyurethane. It is the durability of an oil finish with soap and water cleanup! Hello, my hybrid friend!

So, for all of my painting pals out there, you may want to head out to purchase this new treat and enjoy the polished look it will give your masterpieces! I do hope they come up with a matte version soon, but for now I am just tickled with this new invention!

Popping in to say "Happy New Year " to all of you! I wish you a fun and safe New Year's Eve!

 I hope this year brings you closer to those you love {and maybe even those you thought you couldn't love}, balance in all of the many things life brings, growth through challenges, and fulfillment of dreams.

We will be ringing in the new year with a small group of friends....munching on soup and sandwiches, and then later, a little fireworks and craziness.

I would like to apologize in advance to my neighbors for the banging of the pots and pans at midnight....and the bottle rockets on the roof....:)

Oh what a fantastic year it has been! My mind is so full as I reflect on God's goodness to me and to my family....He has blessed us above all that we could ask or think! 

I love this time of year, and the extra time to spend reflecting on Him.... His coming...His redemption of mankind....

 I love so many things about each one of these photos, and have enjoyed being inspired by them all!

I have been wanting to paint a chalkboard wall for a while now......so, I plan on  painting a wall in my kitchen with chalkboard paint over the holidays!

I have put it off for too long! I will not wait another minute! 

I also love the idea of a high table with chairs, coming off the chalkboard wall....hmmm maybe we'll be making a trip to IKEA too!

I have already warned JB to get ready!
