A Passion for Transformation

Barb Blair is a west coast gal who married a Southern boy, had a couple babies (who are full grown now), and is living happily ever after in Upstate South Carolina.

Blair’s passion for paint and transformation came through a kitchen cabinet makeover on her own kitchen. After 3 weeks of blood, sweat, and tears, and many hours of painting, sanding, and glazing, the project was complete and a new life trajectory was born.

Over the next decade, Blair went on to open a brick and mortar retail and studio location where she sold her pieces, and created editorial content for publications such as Southern Living, HGTV, Design Sponge, Anthology, Redbook, and This Old House. Blair also authored two books published through Chronicle Books: Furniture Makeovers, and Furniture Makes The Room which explain in detail all of the tips and tricks used in her furniture work.

Blair has currently stepped away from the furniture business and is working in ceramics, enjoying a slower pace in life, and seeing where the next road takes her creatively.
