Introductions

I would love to introduce you all to "Ira", and that is pronounced "eye-ruh" for those of you that are wondering! Ira is as solid and heavy as they come with amazing detail and personality. It's just that she had been left to sit and waste away in the presence of those who did not know who she really was.

Then one day, a sweet lady looking for that perfect piece for her grand babies {twins!} nursery... found Ira and knew she had potential. Enter miss "L" the lovely momma carrying these two babies, and she knew what Knack could do to miss Ira, and so the appointment was made...fabric and paint swatches were viewed in abundance....and the rest my friends is history.

Ira will be happily living in the nursery of sweet little baby boy and girl twins...{due very soon!}...and I could not be more thrilled with the happy ending to this sad furniture story!

Have a fantastic Monday guys!

Here is a little "ditty do" that I did for a Time Warner Cable production called Palmetto People! It was so very fun, and I thank TWC for visiting the studio and spending a little time amongst my furniture friends! Enjoy, laughing at my ramblings and silliness!

I hope you all have a great weekend! I am soooooooo excited because my sister and her family are going to be coming in tomorrow and staying for a week!.......and that means that I get to not only see my sister and her hubs but I get to cuddle with, and kiss all over my little man Graeme as well! I can hardly wait.......

See you Monday with a new furniture redo....and I can't wait to show you the two new ones from this week as well.

Etcetera

I have a serious love of books in all forms, but design books in particular are a weekly peruse for me. A while back we started taking our shorties to Barnes and Noble at least one day a week for family reading and magazine time. It has become a favorite for all of us, and a couple weeks ago while doing this very thing I came across this book by Mary Randolph Carter. I poured over the entire book, and absolutely love her philosophy of keeping a clean house but "learning to live with collections, work, kids, pets, art, etc." It is an absolutely wonderful book, and you should take a gander at it if you get a chance.
I ended up bringing it home for good, and am working on reading the entire thing through so as not to miss anything....and then it will make a great addition to my collection of beautiful books.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and maybe...just maybe a little book reading is in order for some of you!

Found Goodness

I spied these on a bookshelf the other night at my parents house, and it was delight at first sight! These gorgeous Russian nesting dolls are legit...from Russia, and the colors and patterns painted on them are so vibrant and beautiful! I love them....love.them.
Although, I don't get to keep these, they are in the studio for me to use at my leisure, and you will be seeing more of them....
...for starters they will be on top of a new furniture friend when I introduce you on Monday!
