I was in love with this piece from the get go. I have done at least two or three of this exact same piece, but in the "adult" size! I just finished this "mini" version as a birthday surprise for a very special 8 year old girl. My client Nicole "stole" it from her mother in law's yard sale ....and even amongst all of the ..."what are you going to do with that ? It's a mess!" She soldiered on, and gave me a little ring a ling.
I was given complete free reign with this piece, and so I went to work coming up with a design plan. I tore out the old bottom and replaced it with a shiny new one, and I added a beautiful pink and navy floral paper to make it frabjous. I chose a blue stripe wallpaper for the drawer to pull in the blue from the flowers below, a little pink paint, some floral knobs and this little beauty is ready to belong again.
I love taking pieces like this one from "death row", and turning them into fresh faces for cool spaces!
When Nicole came to pick it up, she said : " I knew it would look better, but I had no idea it could look this great!"
Yessssssss, mission accomplished....

....I have been admiring and salivating over the JCrew windows this year, and then I saw all of this greatness over at Confetti Systems...
I think my windows would love me forever if I made them this sparkly and fun....maybe I'll think about something like this for upcoming projects in the new year.....hmmmm....
....but for now I am going to head off and have a fantastic weekend! My "baby" turns 12 tomorrow and we have a big birthday party at the horse farm where she and her friends will get to ride horses and hang out in the stables....we are all so excited!...
Hope you all have a great weekend!

unbelievable...
One of my sweet readers and fellow furniture rescuers, Susan Fudge from Retro Restyling, sent me something very special in the mail this week!
When I opened the packaged and found this perfect little knack replica ornament....I nearly fell out of my chair. The attention to detail from the little teeny tiny lined drawers and the newspaper flower is just absolutely unbelievable!
I love it, love it, love it, and it will be a year round ornament on my desk at the studio!
W Fan...
This past weekend Krystle and I stayed at the W Buckhead in Atlanta while attending the Lavish conference. Everything about the hotel was fantastic! From the second we stepped foot in the door, the staff was ready and willing to make our stay an awesome experience.
The giant white antler chandy's had my attention from the get to the go, and the patterns and details in all of the fabrics and accessories were selected to perfection! Thom Filicia is the designer responsible for all of the beauty at this hotel, and I personally think he stinkin' knocked it out of the park!
Enjoyed this place.....very muchly!
Wallpaper indeed...
These beautiful wallpaper selections that joy cho of oh joy! designed for hygge & west have my little heart going pitter patter, and are just begging to be used in a furniture transformation.
If you need a little pop of posh on your walls, the petal pusher in white and gold would be my pick!
