frazzled and bedazzled...

...Hello!
....To all of you faithful readers and friends who stop by here, I need to beg your forgiveness for a couple of things:
1. I have been emailing every single one of you that leaves a comment on my blog back. I just realized last week that most of you were not receiving those emails due to a "no reply" comment situation. It made me sick to my stomach to realize that I had hundreds of emails floating out there that had never reached their intended friend, and that you all had no clue I was even emailing you back! I also try to visit each one of your blogs as well, but sometimes there is no link to a blog....leaving me no way to contact you. So, from now on I will be leaving comments back to you in the comments section of my blog, and will visit each one of you who has an active link to your blog. Make sure to check back in the comment section if you have asked me a question, or feel free to shoot me an email anytime {barb@knackstudios.com} with your email address.
2. I need to take a blog break for a few days this week, as I have one of the busiest weeks I think I have ever had around here! I thought I could keep up, but woke up this morning...and my mind was whirling!
I have the Southern Living photo shoot in a couple days at the studio, and the house......{eeeeeeeek!}......I have an event to attend on Friday night.....and then Saturday and Sunday my studio is open for Open Studios! It is the largest event I will be doing locally this year along with many of my artist friends.... and the city of Greenville sends out over 30,000+ invitations!
I also have articles to write for commitments and work to send in on the book as well.....
So.....I will be back next week with lots of news from the photo shoot, two new furniture friends, a giveaway, and another house full of Knack in New Jersey!
I'm so sorry for the break in our weekly fun together!
I hope you all have a fantastic week!

meet willa

...this sweet little end table/bedside table was in such fantastic shape except for two large scratches on the top that could only be repaired with lots of sanding and/or painting. I know that some of you will not believe this... BUT... occasionally there are pieces that I feel do not need to be painted, or are a bit too "nice" to be painted! So, I left her sitting in the studio holding books, while I pondered her transformation.

It finally came to me in a moment of inspiration last week! I have been waiting for just the right project to use this handmade paper on, and it all came together in a matter of minutes as I was working on another piece! The blue and cream compliment the tone of the wood very much to my liking!

Sometimes little tweaks and changes have just as much impact as full transformations do.....

I promise to try not to use my frabjous orange flowers anymore....I know they have probably worn out their welcome here, but they look so great with everything....it is hard not to gravitate towards their goodness....:)

Welcome to November!

found...

....while cleaning out a piece that I am working on right now....I found this teeny tiny {like 2 inches tall!} little pepper shaker...and it made my day!  I took it to the studio sink, squirted on a little soapy soap and gave the little shaker a bath.
I love how small it is, and am determined to use it as a vase with tiny little flowers in it!
...any discoveries this week for you?
