meet ferris...
Well friends, meet my newest friend! I had so much fun with this one , and am really pleased with the mixture of sophistication and fun all in the same piece. I painted the insets of the drawers a lighter gray, and love the way they add depth to the piece.
There is a client coming to give her a second look tomorrow, but if she does not find a home I will be listing her in the etsy shop on Thursday!
I had a lot of fun with the photo shoot for ferris, making use of the very inspired and colorful pages of the latest Anthropologie catalog. I taped a few pages to the wall, and they were exactly what I needed to get the creative juices flowing!
happy day to all of you!

more found platters...
...Can you even believe that two more of these lovelies found their way to me? I have one left from the previous batch: Colorado....and I now have Florida, and one that has Vermont and New Hampshire together! I will have them all listed in the shop tonight!
the parade...
...Well friends, it was a very busy weekend at the Indie Craft Parade with over 4,000 people in attendance! It was a huge success, thanks to the amazing Elizabeth Ramos, and Erin Godbey who are simply genius!
I had so much fun talking to, and meeting new people, and seeing some of my favorite faces! Thank you to all of my sweet friends and clients who came by the knack booth to say hello, give hugs, and encourage me with your sweet words! You all are the best!
I'm also thrilled to have reconnected with so many of you First Friday friends who thought I had simply disappeared when I moved to the new studio....that may be one of my favorite parts of the show!
My absolute favorite though is, my daughter {mini "B"} came to ICP on Friday night and I hardly saw her at all because she was busy walking around introducing herself to all of the artists and collecting her favorite business cards. Some time later she ended up leaving with a friend for a sleepover, but on her way out the door she said "Mom, this is the most awesome event! I had so much fun, and am so inspired!" I didn't see her again until Saturday after the show, and she had spent hours with her little friend making crafts.....the little monsters above are two of their creations! How cool is that?! Indie Craft Parade may have some new vendors next year! {wink!}
It doesn't get any better friends!
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

this week at knack....
1. these window and flea market displays really revved my color engine. |
2. walked by this east village store to stop and stare at my cake plates in the window. |
3. spotted my "eat" table in this frabjous east village apartment, and fell in love with pinky the ghost on top. |
5. I visited "aerie" where she lives in times square, and once the word got out that I was the artist it was a full on party with announcements over the headsets and billboard fun! times square totally got it's knack on. |
....there are still bits and pieces of new york creeping in this week.....and believe me I still have so many photos that will probably creep into next week as well....hope you don't mind!
Indie craft parade is tonight, and as you read this I am already setting up my booth! I'm excited to be part of this event, plain and simple...new friends are coming and there will be coffee and lots of fun meetings! I hope to be able to leave my booth in good hands and wander around a bit, then I will have more photos to add to the mix next week!
Hope you all have a very blessed weekend!

p.s. I also have a new piece to introduce you to next week:)

newness...
Oh my dear sweet friends, I totally found these on a shelf in New York last week and they jumped right off the shelf onto my feet...and although they do not need a transformation, or any help from knack, I do believe a transformation has been performed on my feet! All in the name of transformation...right? {wink}
I'm having such a great week, and I hope you all are too. Laugh today friends!

brooklyn flea...and lots of it...
...Believe me when I say that this selection of photos is very whittled down! Do you not feel like your eyes have just been given a bath in sheer goodness?
Flea markets will never be the same for me, and I highly suggest you put this on your list of places to visit when you are in the city. Brooklyn flea is like the perfect combination of farmers market, handmade goods, and the best vintage finds. A curated flea market of sorts, where vendors knew how to display and work their product. Super well done.
I came away with a pink lamp, some vintage buttons, and an original piece of art with the New York skyline on salvaged wood. {I will share more on that piece later in the week!}
I want to thank my sweet friend Grace and her fiance' Michael for taking mini "B" and I out for a venture we will not soon forget! Literally, zipping through the streets of Brooklyn in a stick shift mini cooper! I envy those driving skillz!
Good times !
Good times !

smart girl...
...dinner with Grace was wonderful and I came away with so much! My husband could hardly get me to talk about it because it was so exciting I couldn't get all of my words out! Have you ever felt that way? I eventually spilled all the beans!
Grace and I chatted and brainstormed about lots of things, and G threw out something for me to chew on.....that I have chewed so vigorously on....let.me.tell. you! I'm very excited, and will share more as I can.
If you are ever in East Village and want something very tasty to eat you must eat at Momofuku's! It is out of this world....dead serious!
One final thought that has stuck with me since that night...G said that she always picks two things a year that she "thinks" she can't do....and does them. I have one word for what that statement evoked in me...respect.
How bout you? what are your two things?
