Found Goodness- Avocados, a love story
I have been eating my weight in avocados this summer! I just can't seem to get enough of them, and have been whipping up batches of my very favorite Grilled pineapple guacamole from Annie's Eats, making goat cheese and avocado panini's, and I now am ready to try this new black bean recipe that I found on pinterest! I am going to attempt it tonight for dinner....of course the rest of the family will not touch anything with goat cheese, so I will make regular tacos for them! Stinkers! Also, I have to admit to another love story in my life.....and that is with my new found love.......Costco! Oh my, I have wanted to join Costco for the past couple of years and I finally did it this summer. I may or may not make up excuses to just go and peruse the isles. I am telling you, they have the best quality in foods and products....I am loving my new found membership.I know you are wondering why the random mention of Costco.....well, it is not so random, because I buy my avocados there :}For your health. {If anyone knows where that quote comes from, I'll send you a treat!}xo,Barb
Found Goodness- umbrella bones
I was arriving home from the studio on Monday evening, and as I pulled in the driveway I saw that my neighbors across the street were putting their trash on the curb for the Tuesday morning trash pick up. My eye was immediately drawn to this pile of wooden "bones" that I knew was the structure of an old pool/patio umbrella.I hopped out of the truck, threw it in the back and was literally giddy as I skipped up my driveway. You see, this is just the type of thing I am looking for to use as a display in the showroom! I am planning on having a good assortment of ornaments this year for Christmas.....and this might just be the ticket for all of that goodness!Oh, and my neighbor peeked her head over the fence to laugh at me {we take each others "trash" all the time!} and ask what I was going to do with such a thing.....and when I told her I have to say.....I think know I blew her mind! All in a days work my friends. Stay thirsty.xo,Barb

Found Goodness
While the hubs and I were away this past weekend, we wandered into a little town up in the mountains of NC called Brevard. There are a few little shops I love to browse in, our favorite place to eat, painted alleys, a great chocolate shop, and charm just oozes from the streets as you walk on them.As I was browsing in one of my favorite consignment shops.....I spotted this beautiful picnic enamelware set from France. I picked up the box, which just happened to be painted in one of my very favorite shades of green, and started looking for a price. My eyes spied a little brown tag, and I could not believe what my eyes were telling me.......20.00 for the entire set of stainless steel, made in France, white and gold picnic ware! I looked at my husband with the " I think I want to buy these and use them every day at the house" eyes and we were on our way to the register to make the purchase. When we got to the register to check out, I double checked about the price just to be sure I was not seeing things.....and I do believe the sweet lady at the register wished she had spotted them first! I am just so happy with this purchase and can't wait to put them to use! What are you all finding lately? xo,Barb
Found Goodness
I pulled together this photo of three things that found me this week and inspired me with their beautiful shapes, colors and function. The beautiful flowers from the farmers market, with their amazing colors and textures....the now infamous mexican blanket with its stripes in all colors of the rainbow, and the little owl knobs that will soon live on a piece of Knack furniture. All of this is found goodness indeed.xo,Barb
Found Goodness
I purchased several pieces from an estate a couple weeks back, and as I was prepping a fantastic little armoire and getting it ready to paint.... I discovered this handy dandy little accessory for helping gentlemen pick out their wardrobe for the day! I thought it was so simple in design, which I love by the way, and an absolute hoot! I can just see this poor guy standing in front of this little apparatus... closing his eyes, spinning the knob, and hoping he had the correct combination when it appeared!Don't we all wish standing in our closets and getting dressed could be this easy?xo,Barb
Found Goodness
I am serious when I say that the moment I laid eyes on these beauties from Bloom Theory I was completely smitten by their styling, design, and just how well they have been executed. {I first spied them on my friend Holly's pinterest board, and it was all over after that!} This is high fashion for cameras my friends and you better believe I will be saving my pennies so that I can own one....and let it hug my neck!! The second and third photos are my favorites...so I may have a hard time deciding which one I love most. However, with my love for all things off center and asymmetrical I just may love photo number three a little bit more?.....but then again I seem to get tired of "floof " and ruffles, so the simple style of photo 2 may be a bit more practical? Then again the sequins would make me feel like having a sparkle party every time they hit my neck.....hmmmm....See what I mean? So hard to decide! Oh my, such pretty goodness is out there my friends.

Found Goodness
I know this does not look like much to you all, but these tiny sprigs of life and growth bursting from the ground made me the happiest "gardener" in the world! Most of the peony plants in our area have come and gone this season.....and my peony plant did not make an appearance. {sad face} When I checked on the plant location, there were no sprigs coming up .....and on top of that when I parted the leaves and mulch a bit.... there were ants everywhere! I thought for sure my plant had been taken over by the ants, and that all of the years of waiting for that first bloom were all in vain......and I needed to start all over again. I was so sad.BUT.......last night, as we were returning from our walk with little roo {our naughty puppy!} I happened to notice that these beautiful green sprigs were popping out of the ground! I could not believe it........and I can't wait to see how many blooms I get this year! I am ready to bury my face in the sweet smelling blooms.Found goodness indeed.xo,Barb
