49myEi3-PJZw2zMe0mF8_PqG43tJJtKkRzuzxr6lM-4When Bonnie Christine.. of the lovely blog Going Home to Roost ... contacted me about participating in a blog tour promoting her new Sweet as Honey fabric line, I took one look at the fabric and said...YES !I had two chairs that were just beggin' for fresh paint and new fabric seats, and so this was the perfect opportunity for a new beginning....and a makeover!Here is what the chairs looked like before: {not horrible, but not hallelujah invoking either}SAHblogtour7Here is how many layers of fabric were on one of the seats: { three, and lots of straw and moss stuffing}SAHblogtour9SAHblogtour8I created custom {and very special} milk paint colors specifically for this project. I love how the tones blend with the fabric!SAHblogtour1 SAHblogtour5 SAHblogtour4 SAHblogtour3SAHblogtour2Now, Isn't that somethin'?! It's amazing what a little paint and fabric can do!If you would like to follow along on the tour, and see all 25 projects, click here. Yesterday, Heidi from Hands Occupied created sweet little needle pouches, and tomorrow Caitlin will have a brand new project up on her blog, Salty Oat.Enjoy!xo,Barb

Well....here is the table and chairs job that I completed last week! I absolutely love them and want  to steal this set for my very own my eat in kitchen area! The colors are so beautiful and soft together!  The colors are by Sherwin Williams :Table- SW 7019 Gauntlet Gray and Chairs- SW 6485  Raindrop.
I have so enjoyed partnering with Lindsay Carmody of Lindsay Carmody Interiors  and Trey Sherman of Greystone Antiques on this job. I hope we can collaborate on many more projects to come. These two peeps are fantastic I tell you!
Today the table and chairs are headed out of the studio to get the final coatings of polyurethane applied with the sprayer and then they are headed to their new home! Woot!
{the lighting in the studio is a little moody today....so enjoy the mood of this fashion shoot! It is shadowy and edgy.....go with it!}

 Well....I must apologize for the late post today! Although the thought did cross my mind as I was writing this post...."hmmmm....maybe  I should start a new trend in blogging....and post at the end of every day".....and that could be my great excuse for today's late post?! No? {wink!}
.....these gorgeous chairs are part of a dining room table and chairs custom job that I am working on right now for a local designer and her client. {will tell you more about them later!} I am hoping to have all of the chairs and the table finished by the end of the week so I can photograph them for you all and show you on Monday! I love the colors that were picked for this job and will reveal those as well!
...hope today has been a goody!

Meet Lunella.
 I have not sent out an upholstery project in a while, but I am getting ready for Open Studios this weekend, so I am pulling out all the stops. I just had to....{was compelled to}...... unearth this tired old gal, and make her spiffy! This chair, in her before state, has collected dust in my studio for a while. I was so uninspired by how awful and ugly she was. Shame on me.....I had so little faith and vision for what she could become....even though deep down I knew it..... I doubted this one.
It is always good to be proven wrong every now and again!
Man, she's a beaut! Crikey!
{Please excuse the lovely cardboard "floor guards"! There is hardly space in the studio for all of the projects I have going on. I am just makin' it work!}

Barb

 Hello all! I scooted in from the beach last night, and am still wading through laundry, seashells, and mail. We had the best time, and Anna Maria Island was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! I am forever spoiled by the gulf beaches for sure. There will probably be a collection of furniture based on the colors of this trip.......the turquoise water, white powdery sand, pink sunsets, green seaweed, and blue sky are forever etched in my little mind.
For now though, I wanted to show you all these chairs that I finished up for a client right before I split town. These boogers were hard....hard ...hard! I wanted them to be perfect, and it took about 5 really light coats of paint, and then a final brushed on coat of brown wax to get them where I wanted. I am super pumped about how they turned out. I rarely paint with white so it was fun to whip up some white goodness for a change.
The fabric that is going on these guys is absolutely fantastic. I can't wait until everything is in place, and I can get a finished shot for you. There is a lot of pink and orange in the fabric that mimics a hand painted paisley pattern already on the dining room walls.....and there is even a little silver leaf on the walls as well. It is so gorgeous, and I am thrilled to be a part of this super creative project.
That's all for now! I have lots to get done today!
Have a super duper day!
xo,
Barb
