Found Goodness

On Monday I found this goodness in my mailbox! “What goodness is this” you ask? Well….. for the last two days I have been working on editing the galleys for my book! It has been quite a mind blowing experience to flip actual paper pages and gaze at the complete manuscript in print for the very first time. My edits are now complete, so back to San Francisco they go today!

Next step…..Cover design!….oh. my. dear. goodness.

Well you all….I must start off with a confession: I WAS A TOTAL SLACKER THIS WEEK!  I had every intention of finishing some furniture for a post on Monday, but would you believe that I played hookie from the studio all week?! I can’t remember the last time that has happened……but with the big deadlines behind me, and the constant push for the last few months….this week was a perfect week for me to take a break……and I totally did!
I really enjoyed my author photo shoot, and spent some time preparing for that……but the rest of my time this week was spent at home doing laundry, making smores beside my new fire pit, my son’s first soccer games, my daughter’s basketball games, coffee and lunch with friends and packing for our trip today to see my brother and his family in NC. It was a great , great week……and I will be ready to be back in the studio next week! I am not making any promises…..but I will try to have some furniture goodness ready to go at some point next week!
 I am really looking forward to hopping in the car with my parents, hubs and kids today and heading to spend the weekend with sweet family. It will be so good….and my sister in law who is an amazing artist, crazy thrifter, and all around creative soul…..has already told me of her plans for us…..and it is going to be so fun!
{p.s. the above photos are more sneekie peekies from the book photo shoots! I know you love me…..}
Have a great weekend friends!

Introductions

  Here are a few crazily cropped shots from the last photo shoot…. so I don’t give too much way…but I hope that you can see a little glimpse of the goodness that has transpired! I have over 30 completed pieces lined up, wrapped in plastic, and stacked to the ceiling in the studio. Each one is different, unique, and ready to party when the book comes out! I can’t wait to reveal the book collection, and hope you all love it as much as I do.
This week however, I will be starting on 5 new pieces that I CAN show you! Woot! I will have a furniture introduction post up next Monday! I hope to appease those of you who are “mad” at me for the lack of furniture posts! {wink!} Believe you me there was a lot of furniture going on in the studio, more than I have ever completed at one time before……but all good things are worth the wait right?! Nod and shake your head “yes” here……

FYI

Saw these erasers at Target the other day, and I had to laugh.
If I was writing my book manuscript on paper, I would have totally purchased them :) I think it would be fun to write something nutty…..just so I would have to erase it with my nifty “argh” eraser!

Well, we made it to Friday! It has been a super busy week for me as my book manuscript is due in 4 days!! {oh. my. goodness. I can’t believe it!} I have also been preparing for a photo shoot that will take place today, and another on Monday. The book is all consuming right now….as it should be….. and I just wish this sick feeling that I am going to forget something, leave something major out, or just plain flake ….would go away! I am so glad I am working with a fantastic publisher, and group of editors. They make me work extra hard, but it is all for the good!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and that it is filled with good things!
{p.s I just ordered the feather print above, because it is fabulous…and you may see it in the book as well. I’m hoping to channel some flight from these feathers today! hah! }

This book is one of the first purchases I made with some of my birthday money! I spied it a couple months ago while enjoying my weekly reading time at Barnes and Noble, and I knew that I would add it to my collection one day! Well, yesterday was the day….and this book is so beautiful and wonderful and full….so full…..of inspirational and beautiful photos. Very well played, and very well done!
Check out Creative Walls by Geraldine James…..I think you’ll end up bringing it home too!
Have a fantastic weekend! I have lots of fun things to show you next week!
