Introductions: A black beauty named Phalidae

This little petite chest is small and perfectly suited to be used as a nightstand, end table…….or you know? That little wall at the end of the hallway that needs just a little something to catch your eye and draw you in? This is that little eye catcher.

I am in the middle of working on a collection of neutral colored pieces right now and It has been a while since I have done a true black piece. I have been holding onto these beautiful monarch butterfly knobs for a while now and knew immediately that these beauties were perfect for the size and color of this design. I also had this beautiful butterfly wallpaper and so naturally it completed my plans for this piece.

I painted this piece with black milk paint, and then I coated it with four coats of water based polyurethane so it has a really shiny finish over the rustic milk paint. I love the rustic mixed with the shine…..it is so unexpected and right.

Phalidae” is available here locally in the shop as well as the etsy shop. She is so special, and I have a feeling she will not be with me long!

xo,

Barb
